It is not your traditional foot spa that uses lotions and hands to soothe your feet and soles, but fish spa is becoming more and more common to a lot of people nowadays. The use of doctor fish started in 1917, when a shepherd reportedly dipped his wounded leg into a pool of water where there are fishes. The fishes nibbled off the dead skin, which eventually led his wound to heal faster. This historical fact gave people the impetus to seek this fish and its wonderful benefits. I heard about this through a friend, and I got really excited. It was actually the first time I had known about something like this here in Cebu. And the place was really not hard to find, thank God! Their opening rate was 170 pesos for 30 minutes. And they had this private area for customers who wanted a little privacy which wasn't open then, but I'm sure it is now. All in all I liked the place. I liked how the lights in the pool turn blue (haha), it creates a good ambiance. It was a very nice experience, ticklish in fact. The fishes were like tickling on the feet at first and then it felt real good after awhile. And I must say, your feet will really feel smoother after. It was like the good 'ol natural foot spa! The owner even said that they're adding more fishes to accommodate the growing number of customers. So I guess I just have to get back there and check out the place again, and let Doctor Fishes do the exfoliating for me and my loved one! See you there! :))
